Hope Tariro Trust is a child-based charity organization that was formed and registered in 2003 to improve the livelihoods and prospects of vulnerable and orphaned children in Zimbabwe.
Our vision is A society that is just, socially and economically secure for children. Hope Tariro Trust’s mission is: To improve the lives and inspire the hope of orphaned and vulnerable children through facilitating prevention, care and support, mitigation and advocacy.
We concentrates on building children’s access to food, education, life skills, and recreation. Building hope among the hopeless is therefore a cardinal thrust of the Trust. This is achieved through strategies that address the body, the mind, the emotions and the spirit of the individual child.
The Trust draws some of its inspiration and direction from the Bible. For example, Psalms 83, verses 3-4, tells us, “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless, maintain the rights of the poor and the oppressed.” It also derives inspiration from good traditional philosophies and practice such as hunhu or ubuntu which essentially means that a person is a person because of other people and underlines the importance of cordial and constructive relationships between people.
